Trazos de Sueños: The Little Prince inspires creativity in Caracas

The magic of The Little Prince comes to Caracas to inspire a unique competition celebrating love, friendship and imagination. Trazos de Sueños: El Principito, el valor del amor y la amistad invites the whole community to give free rein to their creativity through drawings or paintings inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's emblematic work.

The competition, organised by Torre Gerais in collaboration with the Baruta town hall, Copa Airlines and Montblanc, marks the arrival in Caracas of the sculpture The Little Prince. That monumental work has adorned Parque Vizcaya since 17 February, thanks to the support of Olivier D'Agay, director of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Foundation, and invites children and adults to give free rein to their creativity and express, through art, the essence of The Little Prince: love, friendship and hope.

The Trazos de Sueños competition is open to the whole community with no age limit, an initiative inviting us to explore our creativity. The Little Prince sculpture in Parque Vizcaya will be the muse, and entrants can also find inspiration in reading the original work, in its endearing characters and in the universal values it conveys.

Entrants may set down their own reading of The Little Prince's universe in a freehand drawing or painting, in two dimensional A4 format. Along with the work, each entrant must submit a short note of up to 150 characters about the inspiration behind their creation.

The submission window opens on 15 February and closes on 14 March. Entrants can hand in their work at Torre Gerais, between Calle Nicolás Copérnico and Calle Nueva York, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A panel of expert judges will assess the entries and select the winners, who will enjoy some remarkable prizes.

First prize: two Copa Airlines tickets to an international destination. The winner must cover taxes and meet the immigration requirements of the chosen destination.

Second prize: a classic Meisterstück Solitaire fountain pen and a bottle of Montblanc Royal Blue ink.

Third prize: a classic Meisterstück fountain pen and a bottle of Montblanc Burgundy Red ink.

The winners will be announced at a prize ceremony on 16 March 2024 at Parque Vizcaya and on the social media accounts of Torre Gerais and the Baruta town hall.
