Corrections
This page explains how to request a correction and what we do with it. The process is the same for a reader, a source or the company named in the story.

How to request a correction
Write to redaccion@noticorp.com with the link to the story, the detail you believe is wrong and, if you have it, the source that contradicts it. We review every request, though not every request ends in a correction.
- We receive the request and acknowledge it.
- We check the detail against the story’s original source.
- If the error is confirmed, we fix the story and add a note at the foot.
- We reply to whoever raised it with the outcome, even when nothing changed.
What we correct and how it is recorded
- Errors of fact, figure, date, name or job title: fixed in the text, with a dated note at the foot.
- Errors of attribution or quotation: fixed, with an explanation of what was actually said.
- Errors that change the meaning of the piece: fixed, noted, and the headline updated where needed.
- Spelling or formatting slips: fixed without a note, because they do not alter the information.
What we do not do
We do not take down accurate stories because they are inconvenient, and we do not change the record without leaving a trace. If a piece has to come offline for legal reasons, we record that it existed and why it was withdrawn.
