Very close to Miami International Airport, Miranda Cuisine & Bar stands as the best kept culinary secret in Miami Springs. In this elegant, forward looking spot, guests enjoy an exclusive dining experience free of crowds, long waits for a table and valet parking fees.
From grilled octopus served with crushed peas to a tender New York strip steak with yuca fries, watercress salad and green chimichurri, Miranda's international menu is steeped in the flavours of Latin America and the Caribbean. Even the restaurant's name, derived from the Latin word mirandus meaning admirable or wonderful, is a homage to its roots in Miranda state, Venezuela, which is why you will also find popular Venezuelan street food on the menu.
Begin the evening with a white fish ceviche with sweet potato, red onion, crunchy Peruvian cancha corn and ají limo citrus; a tasty pork belly chicharrón on grilled corn tortilla with watercress salad, tonkatsu glaze and togarashi; cachapas of cracked corn; arepas, corn cakes with meat, fresh cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato and yellow chilli aioli; or the delightful tequeños, white cheese in light pastry. The salads bring fresh ingredients into perfect harmony with house dressings, and pair well with chicken, salmon or prawns. The chicken soup with rice and coriander tastes of home no matter where you are from.
Further specialities include grilled snapper, brought to the table with quick cooked vegetables, cucumber peanut salad and coconut curry; roast chicken breast with a sofrito; grilled churrasco steak; a breaded roast pork chop with green apples and peanut sauce; and grilled prawns on a bed of linguini in a white wine butter sauce. Dessert options vary, including a delicious bread pudding, a chocolate hazelnut cake and a flan, among others.
Comfortable dark wood furniture with gold metal seating and rust coloured accents, vases of every shape, size and colour, and light grey mottled walls provide an elegant but approachable setting for diners. At Miranda's entrance stands a spectacular bar inviting guests to order wine, champagne, beer, premium whisky and spirits, and to linger a while.
Happy hour specials run every day from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and include beers at special prices, house wine and cocktails, such as the first class gin and tonic made with Bombay Sapphire.
For business professionals, Miranda has free WiFi and serves a three course executive lunch at 15 dollars per person from midday to 2:30 p.m. A breakfast buffet is also available from 6:00 to 10:30 a.m. at 16 dollars per person. Miranda is also an ideal venue for corporate events and special occasions, with a semi private dining room, personalised menus and floral arrangements on request.
